Apply Through Clearing

If you have missed the UCAS application deadline for 2026, don’t worry. You can still secure a place on one of our undergraduate courses through clearing.

Our clearing phone line is open Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm, and Friday 9am-4:30pm. On Results Day our lines are open 8am-8pm on Thursday 13 August, 8am-7pm Friday 14 August and 9am-4pm Saturday 15 August.

Come to the University of Northampton through clearing and you will see that we do things a bit differently.

What is clearing and how does university clearing work?

The university clearing system runs annually (typically from July to October) and allows universities to fill remaining course places before the new academic year begins. It’s ideal if you’re worried about your results, applying late, or have changed your mind about where to study.

You can still use Clearing if you’ve already applied through UCAS—just follow the relevant steps.

For 2026 Clearing at the University of Northampton:

From 2 July, you can apply if you have your results but no offers, didn’t meet your offer conditions, received no suitable offers, declined your firm place via UCAS Hub, are reconsidering your firm choice, or haven’t applied this year.

First, browse available courses and shortlist those that interest you. Then contact the university by phone to discuss your options—tutors will help find a suitable course regardless of your grades.

If offered a place, follow the acceptance instructions in your offer email. You cannot accept while holding a firm choice, so you must decline it in UCAS Hub if necessary.

Finally, submit any required qualifications and documents. Once confirmed, UCAS will issue your official place letter.

Please note: the final enrolment date is Monday 19 October 2026.

Postgraduate courses are also available, offering opportunities to enhance your career prospects.

No Halls Deposit to Pay

Guaranteed halls and no upfront deposit to pay when reserving a place.

We want to support you with the transition to higher education. That’s why our four-year courses enable you to successfully follow the degree pathway of your choice, while gaining essential study skills.
