Humanities

Through our undergraduate English degree, you can explore the bold and illustrious world of English Literature – ranging from the Early Middle Ages to the present day.

On our English MA, you will dissect and analyse the role of contemporary literature in a number of different contexts. Whether it be studying post-1945 classics, to examining late modernists such as Samuel Beckett, and surveying the latest novels.

BA History explores research-driven topics on British, European and World history, covering all periods from the 13th Century through to the 21st Century.

Our lecturers, all practising historians, are enthusiastic about their work and publish regularly as experts in their fields. Our diverse team of tutors are big enough to offer a variety of courses, but small enough to offer you a close-knit learning environment.

Our English lecturers are active, publishing researchers in their specialist fields, offering expert teaching in subjects ranging from Shakespeare to Victorian literature.
