Biological Sciences

Our undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Biological Sciences offer the hands-on practical learning required to give you true insight into life as a scientist.

Our Biomed degree provides for graduate entry into medicine, dentistry or the more recently established Physician Associate (PA) programme for clinical practice within the NHS. Our Biological Science degree equips you with the scientific skills and knowledge to understand the interaction between biological sciences, the natural world, human activities and health. The BSc Biomedical Science programme has been accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS).

BSc Biochemistry degree is aimed at helping you understand the interconnectedness of chemistry, physics and biology by exploring a range of different topics.

While on the BSc Pharmacology degree, you will learn how drugs are made into medicines. How drugs and other chemicals interact at the molecular, cellular and systems levels in the body.

If you are interested in postgraduate study, our Molecular Bioscience MSc has two distinct and separate pathways of study allowing you to focus on Molecular Medicine or Genetics and Genomics. You can elect to take study topics in your chosen area of interest and it allows you to design your Master’s degree to meet your career aspirations.

Across all these science programmes, you’ll learn in industry-standard modern and exceptionally well equipped bioscience laboratories, designed to equip you with the practical knowledge and experience needed for a career in science.
