Joint Honours Marketing and Advertising offers modules which are geared towards developing your competence and skill as a prospective marketer as well as your knowledge of marketing models, theories and concepts. The programme examines the increasingly important and dynamic role that advertising and marketing communications plays within an organisation.
The programme is delivered around a variety of core subjects and option choices. The course is flexible and you can tailor the modules around your specific interests. In years two and three you can choose to specialise your studies while being fully supported by our experienced academic team.
We will support you to achieve your career and study ambitions, which is why if you complete our Employability Plus Gold programme or Changemaker Gold certificate alongside your studies and if you haven’t secured full-time employment 12 months after graduating* we will secure a three – six month paid internship for you, or support you into postgraduate study.
*with a 2:2 degree classification or higher
- Flexible study options, choose the modules that suit your interests
- Sets you up to take on a qualification from the Chartered Institute of Marketing
- Optional year-long placement to increase your employability.
- Guaranteed paid internship with the Northampton Employment Promise.
This course incorporates parts of the syllabus of a number of qualifications of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. As a result, you can study for the Introductory Certificate in Marketing in their first year and work towards the Diploma in Digital Marketing, taken in the final year.
In the world of brand interactivity, co-creation and consumer power, it is important to recognise that the role of advertising and marketing communications is constantly changing, due to some extent to advances in technology. Communication today is much more of a two-way activity and organisations must stimulate and motivate their customers instead of just persuading them to buy their brand.
The programme has been structured to develop your knowledge and enhance your future employability. Upon completion of the Marketing Management and Advertising Joint Honours programme you will be able to progress your career in a wide range of organisations stretching across any sector or industry within marketing, business, advertising or communications.
