Economics and Business (Joint Honours) BA/BSc (Hons)

Joint Honours Economics and Business offers modules which provide the opportunity to study a range of economic topics whilst broadening your understanding of wider business issues. Economics underpins everything from world affairs and politics to wealth and poverty, national economic management and the functioning of business. The programme is delivered around a variety of core subjects and option choices. The course is flexible and you can tailor the modules around your specific interests.
We will support you to achieve your career and study ambitions, which is why if you complete our Employability Plus Gold programme or Changemaker Gold certificate alongside your studies and if you haven’t secured full-time employment 12 months after graduating* we will secure a three – six month paid internship for you, or support you into postgraduate study.

Optional Work Placement Year
You are encouraged to undertake a year-long placement in between Stages Two and Three of study. If you meet the entry criteria, and choose to take up a placement year you will find it an invaluable experience that helps you to apply your learning in your final year and prepares you for your career. We offer a lot of support in helping you to find a placement, which can be in the UK or overseas.
Course Details
This course will help develop your understanding of national contemporary economics whilst providing you with practical skills, knowledge and commercial awareness that will enhance your future employability. Upon completion of the Economics and Business Joint Honours course you will be able to progress your career in business, management, government or politics.

English Language Requirements
All International and EU students applying for a course with us must meet the following minimum English language requirements:

Course Content
You will be introduced to macro and micro-economics and build your understanding of interpreting economic data. From a business perspective you will be introduced to management principles and practices. You will learn about the business environment and how this operates in society.
