Waterside Campus, Opening 2018
Students joining the University of Northampton in September 2018 will be the first to experience student life at the University’s brand-new Waterside Campus. A few minutes’ walk from Northampton town centre, the campus is located on the banks of the River Nene and will create a lively leisure, social and retail area for our students to live and learn. Applying to university
The majority of undergraduate degrees in the UK are applied for through UCAS. Applications are online and made up of various steps; it is also useful to know what happens once an application has been submitted and the key deadlines.
How can you help?
Progression into Higher Education is an exciting time, but the breadth of information available can be overwhelming; we have created a useful Glossary of academic terms for your reference.
- We would encourage research into courses and universities, the earlier the better.
- Courses can vary between universities; make sure the course is explored in detail, with consideration given to assessment methods and modules.

Part time work
Our Changemaker Hub is available to students throughout their degree to develop and enhance employability skills. The University also has an employment agency on campus, specifically for students. Unitemps advertise a variety of roles including the opportunity to work as a student ambassador.
Scholarships and Bursaries
To provide further financial support, the University of Northampton offers a range of scholarships and bursaries including a High Achievers Scholarship for A Level, BTEC and Access students.

For private sector accommodation the university works in partnership with the Northampton Student Accreditation Scheme (NSAS), DASH Landlord Accreditation and Studentpad. The accommodation team maintains a housing list which provides essential information on available properties such as address, rent, property facilities and landlord information.
Safety and Wellbeing
Our student’s safety is paramount; the University operates a 24-hour security policy and the Residential Life team support students living in halls of residence, helping with everything from home sickness to medical emergencies. Our Learning Development Team are available to help students with their academic studies whether it’s help on how to structure an essay or revision skills.
The University of Northampton’s Student’s Union is run and led by students. All students automatically become members and as well as providing academic representation for all students, Northampton is one of only two Students’ Unions in England to provide free sports and societies.
