Park and Ride
Since 2018, the University has operated a park and ride facility for staff, students and visitors. Located at Sixfields, Edgar Mobbs Way (NN5 5JR), only two miles from Waterside Campus, this is the primary University parking option for commuting students Monday – Friday.
Parking is free with payment required for the park and ride bus only – operated by Stagecoach – at a fare of £55p single for student and staff when purchased on the Stagecoach App using the exclusive University of Northampton link.
Don’t worry if you’re not a University of Northampton student or staff member, you can still park for free and get a £2 single under the governments Help for Households Scheme.
The Park and Ride buses run hourly during the daytime and more frequently at peak times to Waterside to provide quick reliable bus travel to the University campus.
If you are travelling to the Innovation Centre, St Johns Halls or the Development Hub, you can use the park and ride service, take the 18 Stagecoach service and alight at the relevant stop (the Innovation Centre/Rail Station or Waterside).

Sixfields Park and Ride
Our Park and Ride car park has height restriction barriers. If you would like to park here but have a high vehicle, please email parking@northampton.ac.uk within 48 hours of your stay and we will get these opened for your arrival.

- Cost: Park for free and ride the bus for 55p single (staff & students), £2 visitors.
- Payment: 55p fare on the Stagecoach app via UON, £2 single pay on bus, contactless or stagecoach app.
- Frequency (peak time): Hourly Monday – Friday, more frequent peak times.
- Route: West – East shuttle service including the rail station and Waterside.
- Opening hours: 6am – 10:30pm, Monday – Friday (no overnight stays).
- Security: Town Centre CCTV system.
