Park and Ride
The University is launching the first park-and-ride in the town for University staff, students and visitors, as well as some County Council staff. Located at Sixfields, Edgar Mobbs Way NN5 5JR, to the west of the town the park and ride will commence on Sunday 5th August.
The University has been working with Northampton Borough and County Councils for some time with the aim of securing a location for a second park and ride to the East of the town. We hope to be able to provide further information swiftly.
Parking will be free with payment required for the park and ride bus only – operated by Uno – at a fare of £1 for a daily return for students and staff (Monday – Friday).
The Park and Ride buses will provide free Wi-Fi, and will run every 10 minutes to Waterside to provide quick reliable bus travel to the University campus.
If you are studying at St George’s Avenue you can utilise the park and ride service at Sixfields by taking the bus to either the rail station or Waterside and then using the free intercampus bus to St George’s Avenue (board at Sol Central or Waterside). Alternatively, you can choose to bring your vehicle to St George’s Avenue instead and pay to park on site. For details on parking at St George’s Avenue visit the car parking pages. (Please note: this parking is available because students are unable to get a direct bus from the park and ride at Sixfields to St George’s Avenue (currently.)
