Changemaker is a term you will hear a lot at the University of Northampton, and there are great reasons why.
In 2013 we were the first university in the UK to be given the title of Changemaker Campus by Ashoka U, a community of leaders and institutions who work to find solutions to society’s problems through Higher Education and beyond.
We are part of an exclusive network of only 37 colleges and universities around the world that are recognised as Changemaker Campuses. That means we are among the global leaders in social innovation with the vision of what education can be.
Do you have an idea that could make a difference?
We want to help you to be a leader of the future, and so we offer a Changemaker programme that will allow you to develop that idea and address a problem in the world through a new social venture, whether that is a business in its own right or a different way of working that changes the way people view things.
As a graduate of the programme, you will be internationally recognised by Ashoka U as a Chagemaker who has what it takes to make an impact on society.
Ashoka U’s Changemaker Director, Michele Leaman praised our approach to Changemaker:
“The University of Northampton’s commitment can be seen everywhere you look. The panel highlighted the University’s strength in leadership, commitment to the student experience and curriculum and its efforts to measure impact on society as a result. Social innovation and entrepreneurship is on every corner at Northampton, offering a unique example of a Changemaker Campus.”
