Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur Visa
The Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) route is for graduates who do not have a job offer from an employer, but instead have an outstanding business idea that they wish to put into practice in the UK.
The University of Northampton has a central role in identifying graduates who have developed world class innovative ideas or entrepreneurial skills, and in endorsing and supporting them after graduation.
You cannot apply under the Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) category if you are outside of the UK.
To find out whether you can make an application under Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur), read the eligibility criteria at Gov.uk website.
If you meet the criteria then you will be eligible to apply for the Tier 1 visa. You will need to have a genuine and credible business idea and will need to produce a business plan for this idea. Enterprise Boost can offer you support for creating your business plan if needed. Once you have completed your business plan, you will need to submit this to Enterprise Boost which you can do by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
If your business plan is approved you will be invited to present and discuss your business plan to a selected panel.
“Are you looking for relevant paid work experience?”
We have two programmes that can help provide you with paid internships. Time to Grow is a new programme specially designed to provide recent graduate opportunities to develop key employability skills, obtain valuable industry experience and enhance your CV. Placements are full time, project based, and last for 10 weeks based in local small to medium sized companies.
Santander internships are open to final year students and recent graduates. You will be paid a tax free bursary of £1,000 oer month (or £500 if working part time) and the placements will be for periods of up to 13 weeks, or 26 weeks, in specially designed roles.
An internship can make a significant difference to your studies and employment prospects; boosting your employability whilst the business enjoys an injection of your expertise and enthusiasm. Changemaker staff can support you through the application, interview and entirety to ensure quality and that the benefits are achieved by everyone. Many of these opportunities can lead to a permanent role.
