Transferring to the University of Northampton

Direct entry into second or third year at UON

Going to university is a big decision, but sometimes things don’t work out the way you planned. If so, don’t worry; you can choose to transfer to the University of Northampton to continue your undergraduate studies.

Whether your current university isn’t what you thought it would be, or your personal circumstances have changed, transferring into a second or third year to study with us is simpler than you think.

First, take a look at our subject hubs for find a course, then contact us by phone (0300 303 2772) or email – we will need to know the following:

  • your full name
  • details of your current university and course
  • details of any modules you have already completed
  • the name of the course/s you are interested in transferring onto

Next steps

  • If there are places available, our Admissions team will ask you to submit an application via UCAS, selecting your preferred year of entry
  • Once Admissions have received your application, we’ll ask you to provide a transcript of your prior learning, including levels and grades, as well as module titles and full descriptions of expected learning outcomes. We will require as much information as possible in order to establish whether you have covered (or will cover) the same learning outcomes of all our modules
  • Once received, the information will be forwarded to the Admissions tutor for the programme who will assess the application for advanced entry
  • We will let you know if we can offer you a place on your preferred course or call you for an interview/audition
