This programme combines Management and Business Entrepreneurship modules that will provide you with a key grounding in both subject areas. You will be able to utilise our very own Enterprise Club on campus. The programme is built around an entrepreneurial stream that runs through the three stages of the course. You will gain knowledge of business start-up, business growth and development, managing opportunities, starting an online business and developing strategy.
You will be introduced to frameworks within management and learn about people managing. You will explore social enterprise and ways in which entrepreneurial opportunities can be identified and developed and will start to learn some of the techniques and skills required to be successful in a business environment.
You will study the managing function within an organisation and explore operations management. Within business you will develop a business plan for a new venture of your choice and concentrate heavily on issues within small business and entrepreneurship. During year two you can select which other modules you wish to study and you can tailor this depending on your interests.
In year three you will undertake your dissertation. Your dissertation can focus on management or business entrepreneurship or you can write an interdisciplinary dissertation joining both subjects together. You will explore the wider implications for management, leadership and employability and undertake a module which focuses on opportunity, innovation and entrepreneurship.
