In line with the Data Protection Act 1998, by submitting this form I consent to the information contained on this form being transferred to a database and processed by the University of Northampton for the purpose of managing permit allocations, vehicle access, campus parking & travel needs.
"By submitting this form I understand that if my application is successful I may be required to pay a fee as outlined on the web pages before receiving a permit; I have read the Terms & Conditions below."
Terms and Conditions (T’s & C’s):
Car Parking Permits (‘permits’)are issued on the following basis:
- 1. Permits must be applied for at the start of each academic year.
- 2. Permits will not be allocated to students whose term time address is within 10 miles of Waterside or Development Hub (the restricted postcodes are listed on the web pages), 3 miles of train stations with links to Northampton, 3 miles to Scholars Green Halls or Waterside Halls or those close to the Park & Ride.
- 3. Completion of the application form does not guarantee that a permit will be issued. A previous successful permit application does not guarantee a permit will be issued each academic year.
- 4. There are only a limited number of permits available each academic year - these are issued to all successful applicants based on their criteria matching. When Waterside permits have all been allocated, any student matching the criteria outstanding will be offered a permit for the Development Hub as a Park & Walk.
- 5. Students who are Blue Badge holders or registered with the University's ASSIST Team must apply for parking via the PMS system and not this form.
- 6. Only one permit will be allocated per successful applicant. You may not have multiple cars registered.
- 7. Permits will be issued in accordance with the information supplied in the Application Form. If this information is subsequently found to be inaccurate or factually incorrect, Estate & Campus Services reserves the right to terminate the permit in question and require the affected vehicle to be removed from the University’s campuses.
- 8. Appeals of declined applications may only be made for medical reasons or extenuating circumstances and may require evidence to be provided via email.
- 9. The permits enables parking at Waterside, Development Hub & Scholars Green but does not guarantee a space.
- 10. Please park your vehicle responsibly within marked spaces in order to avoid creating an obstruction or blocking pavements, verges and doorways, otherwise a Penalty Charge Notice may be issued. Motorcyclists must use the ground anchors.
- 11. Cars brought onto campus must have valid VED, insurance (third party minimum) and MOT (if applicable).
- 12. All cars belonging to students without a permit must find alternative parking.
- 13. Car parking is monitored by University Security and the University's appointed agent. A Civil Parking Notice (£70 charge, reduced to £35 if paid within 14 days) will be issued to any vehicle not complying with parking terms and conditions.
- 14. Student data will be held centrally on a University computer server, and will be used to monitor permit usage and adherence with these Terms and Conditions.
- 15. The University’s Student Records System will be used to check and judge eligibility for a permit based on the data held for each applicant.
- 16. The University accepts no responsibility for any loss from, or damage to, vehicles parked in its car parks.
- 17. Permits are non-transferable, and must only be used by the student to whom it is allocated for their own personal use. Permits must not be used to gain access or give parking to other students or third parties.
