  • Need to improve your academic skills?

To improve your academic skills, you could take a look at the Skills Hub which has study guides, videos and infographics on skills required for university.

  • Watch this video to hear three third year students’ insights into things they wished they’d known about university before they started.

  • How can I develop my employability?

At UON you have the opportunity to complete The Employability Plus Award, a tailor-made employability award designed to lay the roadmap to your future career. Delivered by the Student Futures team, the award is completed throughout your time at UON and you will complete one level a year – Bronze in your first year, Silver in your second and then Gold in your final year. This will develop your employability skills in line with your academic learning and make you stand out at interview.

  • Want to work alongside your studies?

Many students choose to work alongside their studies. At Northampton we have a student agency called Unitemps who can help you find roles that are suited to you. Roles range from working in the campus shop to becoming a student ambassador. Once trained, student ambassador shifts can include anything from delivering a campus tour, to supporting our schools and colleges liaison team at UCAS exhibitions across the country.
