Research environment and culture

The University of Northampton research environment encourages cross-disciplinary collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

Northampton’s research ethos is built upon a comprehensive set of values that underscore our dedication to achieving excellence in research. These values include a strong emphasis on prioritising equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) as outlined in our EDI priorities 2020-2025 for inclusive excellence. Our commitment extends to promoting research integrity and ensuring the well-being of all researchers, including doctoral students and staff. This commitment is systematically assessed through staff surveys and the Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) designed for research students.

Our overarching goal is to instigate cultural change and make a meaningful impact by fostering collaboration with both internal and external partners. Furthermore, we champion equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout the Northampton community.
