Brief background of profession and specialisms
Manju graduated from the Northampton School of Podiatry, affiliated by Leicester University in 1994. She worked in Nottingham NHS trust specialising in musculoskeletal podiatry for 5 years whilst completing her post graduate qualification in sports podiatry at the Manchester Metropolitan University. A further NHS position in Birmingham saw her as a clinical and governance lead which involved all areas of research, education, training and delivery of current evidence-based practice.
Returning to the University of Northampton University in 2008 to take up the post of Senior Lecturer, where she teaches and specialises in paediatrics, orthopaedics and mechanical therapy alongside supervising students in undergraduate research. Students are also taken to the London Marathon each year to teach and treat acute lower limb injuries.
Manju worked as a specialist at the 2012 Olympics treating both the organisers and athletes as well as working as the chief podiatrist for the MK Dons.
Currently, Manju is undertaking her PhD in juvenile hallux valgus, children’s bunions, looking at both advancing anthropometric 3D technology to measure the condition as well as a new innovative design for conservative treatment.
It is a combination of her roles to date, particularly in education, training and development of patients, that enables Manju to offer an exceptional level of specialist care and treatment.

Brief background of profession
Paul qualified from The London Foot Hospital and School of Podiatric Medicine in 1985 and was a senior lecturer at UON for 22 years teaching Podiatric Medicine and Anatomy for the Podiatry degree.
Paul has worked in the NHS since qualifying, working in the Birmingham Hospitals mainly with complex medical cases but also in special schools and is now running his own Private Clinic from the Podiatry Clinic.

Brief background of profession and specialisms
Connor specialises in musculoskeletal injuries of the lower limb, and since graduating from the University of Northampton in 2012 has worked within various clinical settings including multidisciplinary private practice and working with professional athletes; before becoming a full time lecturer in 2018 where he leads on musculoskeletal modules.

Krishna has worked in the NHS and private practice, specialising in lower limb wounds and at risk foot, medicines and prescribing. Her previous jobs include national clinical lead, and national professional development officer.

Brief background of profession and specialisms
Shermin graduated from the University of Northampton (UON) with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Podiatry and has since been working as a Specialist Podiatrist at the UON Podiatry Clinic.
She has a strong passion for research and evidence-based management, particularly in musculoskeletal (MSK) podiatry. Her final-year dissertation focused on the surgical management of hallux abducto valgus, highlighting her interest in surgical interventions and biomechanics. Shermin is dedicated to applying the latest research to clinical practice, ensuring the best outcomes for her patients.
In her current role, she sees a wide range of patients, including those requiring routine nail care, nail surgery, MSK assessments, and management for fungal nails and verrucas. She enjoys expanding her knowledge and skills to provide the best possible care for her patients.

Brief background of profession and specialisms
Since qualifying in 2012, Gemma spent time as a self-employed podiatrist before joining the University of Northampton Podiatry Clinic in 2015. During term time Gemma assists with students clinics, as well as seeing patients of her own all year round.

Brief background of profession and specialisms
Sophie graduated from the University of Northampton with a first-class honours in Podiatry. She has spent over 8 years working in the clinical field, however, began her journey and love for medical care at the age of 8 when she immersed herself in St John Ambulance and Surf Life Saving.
Sophie completed a nursing traineeship during her secondary schooling in Australia, primarily working within general medicine, acute care and stroke wards. This position stoked Sophie’s curiosity around multidisciplinary medical roles, and the teams need to holistically care for patients. Working in the stroke ward also created a keen fascination around biomechanics, mechanical therapy, rehabilitation and foot health.
From Sophie’s own personal experiences and requiring orthotics at an early age, she developed a distinct interest in Podiatric Medicine. Throughout her degree, Sophie attended numerous placements in NHS and private practice and was particularly interested in MSK and diabetic care, which prompted her dissertation topic – The Function and Efficacy of Post-Amputation Therapeutic Devices for Diabetic Transmetatarsal Amputees.
