The clinic
Established over 30 years ago, the Podiatry Clinic is part of the University of Northampton’s teaching provision, providing podiatry students with hands-on clinical education. Students, supervised by our team of highly experienced lecturers (all Health and Care Professions Council registered podiatrists) provide patients with a full professional assessment and explanation of treatment options.
The clinic is not part of the NHS, all services provided will incur a charge.
To self-refer to us, please complete the application form above. Alternatively, please call the clinic and we will send a form to you in the post.
Please note:
- Our appointments run between 8.40am – 3.15pm.
- The clinic may have to close earlier than stated above on occasion due to staff absences.
- Read our privacy policy before starting any treatment.
Podiatry appointment FAQs
During your first appointment, we will ask you about your current problem, medical history, symptoms and goals. An action plan will be discussed, and where possible, treatment will commence.
- List of any current medications
- Recent medical results, if you believe they may be relevant to the treatment you require
- Shorts (or leggings) – if you are visiting us for any concerns relating to knees, ankles, or orthopaedic related problems
- Trainers – or a selection of shoes that are worn frequently
Yes, you are welcome to bring someone with you to your appointment. This may be a family member, friend, carer, or someone else who supports you.
- Comfortable clothing
- Socks, but not tights

- Trainers – or a selection of shoes that are worn frequently
Your appointment length will vary depending on certain factors, but generally speaking you’re an initial appointment would be around 60 minutes.
No. We are closed during Bank Holidays and during the period between Christmas and New Year. Please visit our closed days page.
Spring – Summer notice
During the period from April to October every year, we have severely reduced appointments whilst our students sit their exams and have their spring/summer breaks.
We may close our new patient applications for a period of time, or add you to a waiting list for our clinics starting in October.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
We welcome your feedback and use it to help us continually improve our services.
Your comments can help us understand what we are doing well and where we can make improvements. Where appropriate, feedback will be shared with relevant staff and students to support learning and service development.
