In the UK car travel accounts for over 10% of the country's total carbon dioxide emissions and in a local context car usage is one of the main sources of air pollution, congestion and noise.
The University has car parks at both Avenue and Park Campus; however, current UK planning regulations limit the number of parking spaces that the University can have, so spaces are therefore in short supply. As a result, parking restrictions are in place.
The University encourages students and staff to consider using alternative methods of transport to help reduce the impact of car travel on the environment. By working in close partnership with our strategic partners and guided by our Green Travel Plan, the University is developing and improving the range of travel options available:
