Face-to-face interviews will take place in the Learning Hub at the Waterside Campus
Virtual interviews will take place on Microsoft Teams. For an online interview, you will require a device with the video capabilities. Please make sure you’re in a quiet place free from interruption.
What will my interview involve?
Full details will be included in your interview invite however you will be expected to demonstrate a good knowledge of Adult Nursing and what it involves.
Is there any preparation work to do before my interview?
You should do some research beforehand to ensure that you are prepared.
We advise you to visit the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) website, where you will find helpful resources relating to nurse education.
We also recommend you keep up to date with current health care and nursing issues in national newspapers and by visiting the following sites:

Your face-to-face interview with the panel will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, including time for registration and a short waiting period before your interview. For virtual interviews, the total time will be around 30 minutes.

Where will my interview take place?
Face-to-face interviews will take place in the Learning Hub at the Waterside Campus. As part of your interview you will be given an opportunity to have a tour of facilities.
Virtual interviews will be held on an online platform called Blackboard Collaborate. We advise that you use Google Chrome to join. Unless you already have it, we recommend you install Google Chrome before your scheduled interview on a device that is capable of video calling.
What will my interview involve?
There will be a pre-interview task as part of the selection process and more information on what is required will be on your invite email. On the day, you will have a series of mini-interviews. As a part of your face-to-face interview day, you may be given the opportunity to have a tour of the facilities by our current Midwifery students and a chance to ask them any questions that you may have about being a student midwife at the University of Northampton.

You will need to bring a form of identification with you to your interview (driving license, passport, or visa).

During the interview, you will be asked to discuss why you want to be a Nursing Associate and the relevant attributes that you have.

Face-to-face interviews will last approximately 1 hour. Virtual interviews will last up to half an hour.
What will my interview involve?
You’ll have a pre-interview task as part of the selection process and all the details will be shared in your invitation email. On the day, you’ll take part in a brief introduction followed by your individual interview.
