Our MBA courses are carefully designed to offer you an in-depth knowledge of all critical business areas and functions. The Master of Business Administration Executive is a globally recognised postgraduate qualification for ambitious, motivated professionals.
Our MBA Executive Top-up course is designed to enable holders of the Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) (or equivalent UK and international qualifications) to gain an MBA qualification in just one year. You will take one module and submit the Business Research Report which will top up your Diploma to sufficient credits to be awarded an MBA. This course is available to study by distance learning.
Park Campus, the larger of the two campuses, is set in 80 acres of open green parkland, occupying an impressive and spacious site.
Facilities available on-site include a sports hall, restaurant, Students’ Union, Student Centre, shop, bar and nightclub. Safe and secure accommodation for more than 1,300 students is spread throughout Park Campus, with the majority placed within our student village combining stunning green spaces with welcoming Halls of Residence.
A Multi-Faith Chaplaincy and Medical Centre (providing a full GP service and free counselling) are also available at Park Campus.
Park Campus is within easy walking distance of a busy, local shopping area, complete with banks, supermarkets, shops and pubs.

Our MBA Executive Top-up is designed to enhance your knowledge and skills that you will have developed during previous postgraduate business or management study.
This course allows you to consider issues in an organisation or total business context. Your skills in analysing business and organisational problems will be enhanced throughout your time with us.
The course focuses on developing your strategic thinking within an organisation as well as enhancing your ability to recognise potential business opportunities and develop strategies to cope with managing change. You will be instructed in management research techniques, enabling you to fulfil the demands of the course assessment scheme and complete a business research project.

Methods of Learning
If you are studying via distance learning you will use our Northampton Integrated Learning Environment (NILE). This is our dedicated online university learning space that you will use throughout your studies. Your tutors will use NILE to engage with you, and you will use NILE to access course materials, assessment information, virtual classrooms and discussion boards. Your assessed work will be submitted and graded online, so you will be able to see your grades and feedback wherever you are in the world. The system that underpins NILE is Blackboard and access to this system is through nile.northampton.ac.uk.
You will need to commit 10-15 hours per week in order to complete the course.
Assessments on the MBA Executive Top-up include written assignments, essays and a dissertation.
Facilities and Special Features
The MBA business trip is an opportunity to visit a location outside of the UK to explore and evaluate business and management issues. In the past our students have visited Brussels, Dubai and Greece on a three day trip with the MBA cohort and tutors. There may also be an opportunity to meet and network with other MBA students and staff from our partners around the world.*
*The MBA Business trip will cost approximately an additional £500 including flights, hotel and an MBA networking event.
Your management technique and competence will be significantly improved on completion of the MBA, giving you the skills and confidence to progress into higher level management positions and other employment opportunities.

If you hold any of the following qualifications you will be eligible for entry onto this course (subject to conditions below):
- a Diploma in Management Studies from a British University (120 credits at Level 7/PG)
- Edexcel Extended Diploma in Strategy Management (120 credits at Level 7/PG)
- Association of Business Executives (ABE) PG Diploma in Business Management (120 credits at Level 7/PG)
- NCC Education PG Diploma in Business Management (120 credits at Level 7/PG)
- ATHE Diploma in Strategic Management (120 credits at Level 7/PG)
In addition to the qualifications listed above, we ask that you have a minimum of two years of relevant management experience. We will consider your application if you can prove any prior credit or experiential learning that is relevant to the course. As this postgraduate qualification will attract professional practitioners and managers, you may be admitted on the basis of an assessment of meaningful and measurable prior learning or professional experience.
Other qualifications may provide full or partial exemption from modules on the MBA. Please contact Admissions for further information.

Fees quoted relate to study in the Academic Year 17/18 only and may be subject to inflationary increases in future years.
