This accelerated programme in BA (Hons) Management allows you to achieve a full degree within two years rather than three. The accelerated Management course is an intensive degree programme, with your study continuing throughout the summer vacation periods. It is designed for aspiring professionals who are seeking to ‘fast-track’ their education and enhance their opportunities for a career in management.

It may be possible once this degree in Management has been successfully completed to enrol on the MBA programme. Students will need to meet the MBA entry requirements. Advice and guidance is available and would enable you to gain Management qualifications in both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in three years.

This accelerated BA (Hons) Management course aims to provide an intellectually demanding and satisfying programme of study that equips graduates to work independently and creates a desire for lifelong learning. We aim to produce Management graduates who are proactive to management issues, understand how business needs shape management strategies, and who have high employability as generalist and specialist managers in a variety of organisations. This course will facilitate your acquisition of knowledge, understanding and experience of management issues, while providing an appropriate foundation for postgraduate Management courses.

We deliver this by providing our students with strong support for their studies from a dedicated team of well-qualified staff. Many of our teaching staff come from professional backgrounds and have worked within both the public and private sector and are still involved in external consultancy, training, and social enterprises. As a teaching team, we pride ourselves in research activities that inform our teaching practices.

  • The two-year BA (Hons) Management accelerated degree provides an alternative to the three-year qualification, allowing you to graduate and fast track your career. The accelerated degree enables you to complete your degree in two years by extending the academic year into the normal vacation periods. You will need a strong academic ability and time management skills in order to be able to cope with the demands of this programme.

    The accelerated management programme focuses on management and leadership. The programme encourages you to develop an understanding of the different areas that management involves, together with the development of management skills including communication, critical evaluation and organisational appraisal. You will develop your management and leadership skills as well as gaining an understanding of management and business models, theories and principles.

    It may be possible once the BA (Hons) Management degree has been successfully completed to enrol on the MBA programme. Students will need to meet the MBA entry requirements.   • What is Management?

    There are many different Management jobs across a number of sectors and organisations. Regardless of the position though, they all require administration, organisational and coordination skills.

    Those working in Management roles will need to apply available business resources, set strategies and liaise with various staff to achieve certain business goals. Therefore, key skills for success include clear communication, planning, leadership and extensive knowledge of the organisation.

    What can I do with a Management degree?

    The broad skills, knowledge and experience you gain as part of this Management course will equip you for roles in various organisations including in marketing, business, finance and economics, amongst others. You will be able to pursue careers in private, public and voluntary sectors and be highly sought after by employers.

    Some of the positions our Management graduates have gone onto include Project Management, Social Media Manager, Production Manager, Risk Manager and Management Consultant. Your Management degree will also make you a suitable candidate for roles in retail, human resource and sales.

    What does the accelerated BA (Hons) Management programme aim to do?

    How will I learn?

    This programme will be taught using an active blended learning approach which will be interactive and participative. Sessions will be structured around initial tutor input followed by activities and discussions. Our teaching team uses a variety of teaching methods including face to face lectures and seminars, workshops and online materials. You can expect to put in 200 hours of work on each module per year.

    Our BA Management team prides itself on its commitment to students. Tutors are available to support you throughout your academic studies. You can get further professional academic support from our dedicated Learning Development Team. You will also meet with your personal tutor on a regular basis to discuss academic and employability progress. We are firmly committed to the student representative system, as we take the view that your opinions and comments, as a student, are vitally important.

    How will I be assessed?

    You will be assessed using a variety of methods which may include essays, group and individual reports, individual learning logs, portfolios, time-constrained assignments and tests, group presentations, poster sessions, engagement with discussion boards/blogs, and seminar contributions.

    What is the schedule of this course?

    This course is available to study two years full-time. Upon successful completion, applicants can go onto study the one year MBA.

    • IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5.5 in all bands for study at undergraduate level.
