Sustainability Reporting at UON
Climate Action Plan (CAP)
This is a key living document that outlines our targets for the academic year ahead in relation to energy, carbon, water, waste, biodiversity and engagement. It specifies reduction targets we aim to achieve, actions to carry out throughout the year and feeds into our annual iiE accreditation. The CAP is reported on each year through the End of Year report and is then reviewed and rewritten around July for the next academic year ahead.
Climate action plan 2026/27The Environment and Sustainability End of Year Report (EOY)
This document reports on our achievements, areas of improvement, CAP target results and carbon footprint of the previous academic year. It is written by our Environment Advisor using data from utility and waste bills, survey results and testimonials from event attendees throughout the year. It is presented to the Social Impact Board (SIB) and University Leadership Team (ULT) before being published on our website around November each year.

The Sustainability Survey
Each year a survey is sent to all staff and students which provides valuable information such as thermal comforts, knowledge of recycling and how people travel to Campus. Some of the data is then used to plan awareness campaigns, some is used to calculate carbon footprint, and others are used for First Degree. The feedback section allows us to answer any questions people may have or investigate any anomalies.
