I chose this course at UON because it was the best route into teaching and after already completing my Foundation degree at UON, it felt like the best place to continue my studies.
The course tutors were very experienced and shared their wealth of knowledge. The guidance and support that was given by them was tremendously appreciated, and studying this course has made me feel more confident and prepared for the journey ahead. The ICT skills and knowledge of maths that I gained were also most useful to my future career.
I’m currently a Year 4 class teacher, working in a school as an Early Career Teacher (ECT). My plan after completing my ECT year is to continue working in this profession and to work my way up to gaining a senior leadership position.
The advice I’d give to undergraduates interested in this career path would be not to give up – take the support and guidance from your tutors and ask for help when you need it.
My UON experience was brilliant – I could not have chosen any other university.
