I decided to study at the University of Northampton because it offers a scholarship for international students and the Games Art BA (Hons) course ranked highly in comparison to other universities.

My main career aspiration is to work as a character artist at Riot Games, who are responsible for creating games that are played in some of the most recognised esports in the world.

With a degree in the field, I hope to be industry-ready to get a job, as well as being more employable in the eyes of potential recruiters. I believe that the University is providing me with a quality education and the skills I’ll need for this.

Through group projects on my course, I’ve been able to hone my teamwork and communication skills, which will be useful for working in a group environment in an industry which relies heavily on its personnel. Also, the art and visual skills that I’ve gained have helped me to significantly expand my professional horizons.

The advice I’d give to undergraduates interested in this career path would be to keep in constant touch with lecturers or students from the course and ask for feedback on your assignments regularly.

My time at UON is proving to be a fascinating journey, leading to an exciting destination.
