Welcome to BA (Hons) Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) (Top-Up) – September 2026.
A very warm welcome to BA TESOL Top-Up. We are delighted that you have chosen to study with us. Our programme is designed to help you develop comprehensive understanding of English language and EFL teaching methodologies, and analytical and practical skills to enable you to work in a variety of professional TESOL settings globally. Throughout the programme, you’ll be encouraged to think critically, reflect deeply, and engage with contemporary challenges in TESOL. You will also explore the role of technology in language teaching and its practical applications, and how to become an effective intercultural communicator. Our friendly and highly experienced staff team are eager to support you on your personal and academic journey. We hope you have a happy, successful and rewarding time studying at the University.

This session is a chance to start getting to know your fellow students and the staff who will support you throughout your studies. You’ll learn more about how your programme is organised and what to expect from teaching and learning. We’ll also introduce you to the many teams and services across the University that are here to help you succeed, so you can discover the support that’s right for you.

Session: The Faculty Welcome Experience!
This is how we love to kick things off in the Faculty of Business Law! This fun and friendly social event brings music, unique games, party food and more to our new student and staff community. Through a series of creative activities, conversations, collaborative challenges and cultural insights from around the world, you’ll have the opportunity to meet fellow students, share your multilingual experiences, and explore your multilingual identities and belonging in a relaxed and welcoming space.
