Welcome to BA Strategic Management & International Business (Top-Up) – September 2026.

This course has been thoughtfully co-designed with Educational Linguistics professionals to support international students like you in developing the knowledge, practical skills, and global mindset needed to thrive—both in your career and in life.

Induction and Orientation Sessions
In preparation for your course starting in September, we hold some course level in-person welcome events for all our strategic management and international business students. However, the formal course induction will be scheduled within your timetabled classes in the first couple of weeks. If you have any questions please contact Dr Sally Sun: sally.sun@northampton.ac.uk.
When you arrive at the University of Northampton, there’s plenty to get involved with during Welcome Week. However, there are specific sessions taking place as part of your course induction that’ll help you settle in and prepare for teaching to start the following week:

Session: The Faculty Welcome Experience!
This is how we love to kick things off in the Faculty of Business Law! This fun and friendly social event brings music, unique games, party food and more to our new student and staff community. Hosted by the faculty Student Experience Assistant Team (SEAT), this is a great opportunity to connect and mix with peers and tutors from Business, Management, Analytics, Marketing, Hospitality, Law, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Criminology, Criminal Justice & Policing course communities. We promise you’ll have a great time…NOT TO BE MISSED!

Preparation
Please take time to follow university instructions step by step, especially for Microsoft Office authentication and account activation and begin familiarising yourselves with key platforms such as NILE, Nelson, the Student Hub page, & student portal, to ensure a smooth start to your studies.
Equipment
To succeed in your studies, it’s essential that you have access to a reliable laptop that you can use throughout your course. Being well-prepared makes a big difference, so we also recommend checking the reading list for each of your modules in advance. This will give you a head start and help you feel more confident and ready for your classes.
