Paramedic Science BSc Welcome Pack
Welcome to Paramedic Science BSc (Hons) 2026.
Welcome to the BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science programme at the University of Northampton. I am delighted that you have chosen to join us, and I look forward to supporting you as you begin your journey towards becoming a confident, compassionate and highly skilled paramedic.
This is a dynamic and engaging course that combines academic study with practical, real-world experience. From your very first weeks, you will be encouraged to take an active role in your learning through interactive lectures, small-group workshops, simulation activities and hands-on practical sessions. Our aim is to help you develop the knowledge, clinical skills and professional behaviours needed to succeed in contemporary paramedic practice.
One of the most exciting aspects of the programme is the opportunity to apply your learning in practice. Your first ambulance placement begins in November, giving you the chance to work alongside experienced clinicians and gain invaluable insight into the realities of frontline patient care. These placement experiences are an important part of your development and help bring classroom learning to life.
Throughout the course, you will be supported by a dedicated and experienced team of lecturers, whom have backgrounds in paramedic practice, emergency care and healthcare education. You will also have access to a Personal Academic Tutor and a wide range of university support services to help you achieve your full potential, both academically and personally.
The University of Northampton is known for its welcoming community, modern facilities and supportive learning environment. We are committed to helping you feel part of the Paramedic Science family from day one. We are excited to welcome you and look forward to helping you take the first steps towards a rewarding and meaningful career in healthcare.
