Welcome to Molecular Medicine MSc – September 2026.

Welcome to the University of Northampton!

This is an exciting new chapter in your life, and we are looking forward to welcoming you and supporting your growth as scientists and individuals. This course provides you with a broad understanding of the molecular basis of biological systems. You will develop your understanding of human disease and learn to apply cutting-edge approaches to help tackle global health issues. You will gain extensive research experience by undertaking modules based upon your own interests through negotiated learning and research projects. This includes working in dedicated research labs to give you the experience and specialist skills required by employers. Your employability will be further increased by applying science communication skills to promote topics of interest to you. This will help you pursue a research career, such as a PhD, or opportunities in academia, industry, and clinical sectors.

​​Our teaching is research led and based upon active engagement and participation of students. Teaching includes a broad range of assessments based around real life tasks, allowing you to further develop specialist and transferable skills relevant to employers. Our overall aim is to help you maximise your potential and develop a broad range of specialist skills, enabling you to pursue a range of successful careers.

Above all, we hope your time at university is as enjoyable and productive as possible.​​​
