Welcome to BA Marketing Management (Top-Up) 2026.
Welcome to the BA (Hons) Marketing Management Top Up degree. We are excited to welcome you to the course as you begin this next stage of your academic journey!
This course has been designed to develop the professional marketing managers of the future.
Your course will provide you with key insights into marketing practice and theory in a range of managerial contexts.
Experienced tutors on this programme will ensure that you not only gain knowledge about marketing, but will have the skills to be professional marketing manager.
Your first term will be focused on setting a solid common foundation of understanding of core marketing concepts and theory before going on to investigate some more specific areas in Term 2.

Rob will act as the final contact for any issue that your Personal Academic Tutor or Module Tutor cannot deal with. Rob will also be your Module Tutor for one of the modules each term.
Welcome & Induction Sessions
Students arriving during University Welcome Week are encouraged to attend the generic Marketing induction sessions (Look out for communications regarding these in September) where the Course Leader will welcome you.
This online session is an early opportunity to meet the course lead and find out some key information about the course and upcoming modules, as well as gain some tips to prepare you for your studies.

When you arrive at the University of Northampton, there’s plenty to get involved with during Welcome Week. However, there are specific sessions taking place as part of your course induction that’ll help you settle in and prepare for teaching to start the following week:
We know that some of our students may arrive beyond welcome week for genuine reasons, so be assured that the course team will work with you to ensure a smooth transition and that you will have opportunities to receive key information about the course and connect with fellow students during the first week of teaching.

Tuesday 22 September
Session: Joint Course Marketing School Introduction
This session brings together students from across all marketing-related degree programmes. It’s a great chance to network, meet academic staff and gain an overview of what to expect in your first year.

Wednesday 23 September
Session: Course Induction
Meet the course lead in person, find out some key information about the course and prepare for commencing your studies. (This will cover the same information as the pre-welcome week online session).

The Faculty Welcome Experience!
This is how we love to kick things off in the Faculty of Business Law! This fun and friendly social event brings music, unique games, party food and more to our new student and staff community. Hosted by the faculty Student Experience Assistant Team (SEAT), this is a great opportunity to connect and mix with peers and tutors from Business, Management, Analytics, Marketing, Hospitality, Law, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Criminology, Criminal Justice & Policing course communities. Digital Northampton (optional)
As a student, you have an opportunity to become involved in activities and events organised by Digital Northampton, which can help enhance their studies and build connections to employers. Digital Northampton is a collaboration between local digital businesses, the University of Northampton and local councils designed to support the digital innovation in the region.
The Digital Northampton Podcast is created at the University and is produced and hosted by Ken Punter, Lecturer in Digital Marketing. It covers a range of subjects, primarily focusing on digital marketing and communications. Students can learn more about the podcasting and creating digital content when choosing from our wide range of optional modules on offer.
