Law and Social Justice LLM

Welcome to LLM Law and Social Justice 2025.

This LLM is about exploring how law can shape struggles for justice, equality, and social change. It asks how legal frameworks work in practice, how they reflect wider power relations, and how they might be reimagined to challenge inequality and exclusion.

You will be encouraged to bring your perspectives and experiences into the classroom. Teaching is collaborative and critically engaged, giving you the space to debate difficult questions, test ideas, and connect law to real-world problems. Together we will explore how law intersects with race, gender, class, disability, migration, the environment, and other dimensions of social life.

By the end of the programme, you will not only have developed advanced knowledge of law in its social and global dimensions, but also the confidence to apply your skills in academic, professional, or advocacy settings. Whether you are aiming for careers in research, international organisations, NGOs, or legal practice, this LLM will help you navigate law as a tool for both understanding and shaping social justice.
