Welcome to MSc Counselling Children and Young People – September 2026.

Welcome to the MSc in Counselling with Children and Young People at the University of Northampton (UON)! We are thrilled to have you join our course and we are keen to support you in pursue your career goals. Our course is designed with an integrative and ecosystemic view of counselling, emphasizing the importance of understanding the child within their unique context. You will be guided by experienced therapists who employ an interactive and engaging teaching delivery style, ensuring that you are not just learning, but also actively participating in your own growth.

We place a strong emphasis on reflexivity, inclusion, and diversity, fostering a group experience where every voice is heard and valued. Our assessment strategy encompasses a range of methods including skills assessment, case analysis, theoretical essays, group debates, and creative presentations. Preparing for your course

In preparation for your course starting in September, we hold a face to face welcome session beforehand so you can meet your Academic Team and other students studying the same course.
