Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship Welcome Pack

Welcome to (CMDA) Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship 2023.

You will attend campus one day per week (usually a Tuesday at UON) for a workshop as degree Apprenticeships are delivered through 20% off-the-job training. You will have a combination of face to face sessions and further online and one to one tutor support. Darren said: Through this programme, the acquisition of core knowledge is achieved via a mixture of seminars, workshops and work-based learning. As apprentices progress through the programme, they will work increasingly independently always relating their studies to the work environment. The apprentice will be able to apply this acquired knowledge and experience, relating the theoretical concepts and independent research in an academic context to the benefit of their organisation via the useful foundation of Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours.

These KSBs map the Degree Apprenticeship to the Apprentices’ work environment to demonstrate the usefulness of the CMDA. We produce graduates who are proactive and more capable thinkers in relation to management issues and who are able to understand how business needs shape management strategies.

Having worked with CMDA programmes in other institutions, I feel at home on the CMDA for the University of Northampton. How degree Apprenticeships work is a fantastic blend of knowledge and application, and as my own research is about how we think, I am well-placed to help guide the content and outcome of the CMDA for the Apprentices.

As a specialist in adult development, I have delivered strategic learning solutions through bespoke development programmes at all levels of business within the private, corporate and public sectors. I bring this experience with me to the Apprenticeship programme when delivering lectures and workshops, as it’s about how we think, not what we think, and the CMDA builds on this principle throughout.
