Welcome to BSc Business Data & Information Systems (Top-Up) – January 2027.

I am delighted to welcome you to the BSc (Hons) Business Data & Information Systems (Top-Up) programme at the University of Northampton. You are joining a dynamic and future-focused course that will help you develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed in an increasingly data-driven business environment.

Throughout your studies, you will explore how organisations use data, digital technologies, and information systems to make strategic decisions, improve performance, and create value. We will examine real-world business challenges and discover how data analytics, information systems, and emerging technologies can be used to solve problems and drive innovation. Most importantly, you will have opportunities to apply what you learn through practical activities, industry-relevant projects, case studies, and discussions that reflect contemporary business practice.

This is an interactive and supportive learning community where your ideas, experiences, and perspectives are valued. My colleagues and I are committed to helping you make the most of your time at Northampton, whether that is through engaging teaching, academic support, or opportunities to enhance your professional and digital skills.

During your first week, you will have the opportunity to meet your Personal Academic Tutor, get to know your fellow students, and familiarise yourself with the learning resources and support services available across the University. We also have a number of exciting guest lectures and industry-focused activities planned throughout the year to help connect your studies with the world of work.
