Welcome and Induction Sessions

In September, there will be subject and programme Welcome Sessions for new students to meet the programme team and students from senior years.

More details of the Welcome Session will be posted on the programme site.

Each student is allocated to a Personal Tutor (PT). You will have the opportunity to schedule a 1-to-1 meeting with your PT in this first week. The PT meeting would be a good opportunity for you to discuss any questions about personalised support.

Monday 22 September – Friday 3 October

Welcome Week activities

From karaoke to outdoor cinema, wellbeing walks to Silent Disco, and much more – there’s something suitable for everyone.

See our Welcome timetable to find out more.

Equipment

You will have access to several on-site computer labs, including a state-of-the-art 24/7 AI Lab. Whilst it is possible to complete assignments using only the university facilities, in reality, much of your practical study and portfolio development will need to be done outside of timetabled sessions. We recommend all students have access to an up-to-date Windows PC or Mac at home. A Windows PC with an Nvidia graphics card is recommended, but not mandatory.

Enhancing skills, building networks and engaging in the wider University community

You are welcome to join the UON AI and Robotics Society, which is managed by students from the AI and Data Science course. https://northamptonunion.com/societies/activity/173/artificial-intelligence
