Accounting & Finance (Top-Up) MSc Welcome Pack
Welcome to MSc Accounting & Finance (Top-Up) – September 2026.
Welcome to the MSc Accounting and Finance (Top-up). This programme is designed to extend and enhance the knowledge, skills and professional competence you have already developed through qualifications such as AIA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAP or CPA Australia.
The course focuses on developing your ability to think strategically about accounting, finance, management and organisational change. It is particularly suited to accounting and finance practitioners who wish to build on their professional experience while continuing their personal and professional development.
You will explore key issues in accounting and finance through a combination of lectures, seminars, independent study, applied learning activities and assessment tasks. The programme will encourage you to connect theory with professional practice and to critically evaluate real-world financial and organisational challenges.
During the first week, you will be introduced to the course structure, teaching team, module expectations and assessment requirements. You will also receive guidance on academic support, learning resources and key contacts, including information about when you are likely to meet your Personal Academic Tutor. The first week is designed to help you settle into the programme, understand what is expected of you, and prepare for the learning journey ahead.
