Additional Needs Arrangements for Ceremonies
Additional Support at Graduation Events
If you or any of your guests have additional needs, there are various different arrangements we can make to try and make your ceremony easier.
Staff are on hand throughout our venues should you or your guests need assistance during the event.
The venue we are using for the May 2024 ceremonies, and all associated activities, is all on one level with no steps.
Ample disabled parking is available in the main carpark. The postcode for this is NN5 5JT (Edgar Mobbs Way). There is a short walk (about 5 minutes) from the car park to the stadium entrance, which is flat access. We will be providing a golf buggy between the car park and venue for anyone who will find walking difficult.
There will be a very limited number of spaces in a much smaller car park closer to the stadium entrance for those students and/or guests who are unable to travel from the main car park and cannot use the golf buggy for transportation, such as those with wheelchairs. If the main car park will not be suitable for you/your guests, please complete the parking request form as soon as possible before 11 April 2024 so that we can reserve a space for you. In the event that spaces become full in the smaller car park, reservations will be made on a first come first served basis.
To request a car parking space in the smaller car park, please complete the booking form before 11 April.
Seating
When booking your ceremony ticket you will be asked to confirm any additional needs you or your guests have that would affect where we seat you. We will consider this information and seat your party accordingly. Should you have not provided this information at the time of booking, please email ceremonies@northampton.ac.uk with the details as soon as possible.
Wherever possible we will accommodate all guests and students with additional needs, however, should you have concerns please contact us prior to the ceremony. We would always recommend to not leave queries regarding additional needs until the event, as should the venue be full, we may be unable to accommodate late requests. However, should circumstances change last minute, please visit the help desk at the venue for advice and help.
