What will your shoes be made of in 2050?

Date 1.11.2016

Ever wondered what your shoes will be made of in 2050? Will leather still be desirable or will synthetics have taken over as a cheaper alternative?

Stahl, a leading leather chemical company, will be at the University of Northampton on Thursday 10 November to discuss these issues in a ‘leather versus synthetics’ debate and will give a glimpse into what we could be wearing on our feet in the future.

This is part of our Leather Industry Engagement Day, which will also give you the opportunity to hear from companies, such as Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce, Eagle Ottawa and Lear Corporation, who are big players in the automotive leather industry. In the afternoon we will be holding a careers fair, where the likes of Church’s Shoes, Pittards Plc and the Scottish Leather Group will be on hand to talk about the different career and job options available within their companies.

The event is open from 9.45am until 3pm at Park Campus and further details about the companies attending are listed in the Leather Engagement Industry Day intinerary.
