Students’ designs could make Haddonstone street furniture range

Date 13.03.2020

Design ideas devised by students from the University of Northampton could be incorporated into a product range for a county stone manufacturer.

Second year undergraduate students from the Product Design BSc (Hons) course were tasked to develop ideas to form part of a new street furniture range for Haddonstone.

The students devised a variety of products designed to be produced using Haddonstone’s unique cast stone materials – and successful concepts could be added to the commercial range of architectural, landscaping and garden products.

A committee from Haddonstone selected its top four concepts and it’s hoped that some of the students’ ideas will be translated into prototypes later this year.

The successful students, who all received prizes from Haddonstone were: first place, Jakub Wojciechowski; runner up, Felicity Reeves; joint-third, Alex Ward and James Watkins.
