It’s official – students get an award-winning employability service at the University of Northampton

Date 10.07.2017

The University of Northampton’s student employability service has been recognised with a national award.

The Changemaker Hub, which provides students with volunteering opportunities, work placements, internships and part-time jobs, has been named Overall Winner for Developing Employability 2017 by Abintegro, the career development platform.

The award is based on the Abintegro Employabillity Index report, analysing 1.1million employability activities from 112,000 students across 72 qualifying institutions throughout 2016, using the Abintegro Career Centre online platform.

“Northampton’s success is a result of a highly-effective strategy for implementing and promoting the University of Northampton Changemaker Hub platform, having a clear brand and programme and ensuring staff use the platform features in their work with students,” said Tony Heard, Abintegro’s Managing Director.

“The Employability Index report analysis considered both student engagement (the proportion of students engaged in online employability activities) and student activity (the volume and type of activity completed by each student).

“We are delighted to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of the team at Northampton with this award.”

Mark Blaber, Employability & Enterprise Manager at the Changemaker Hub, said: “This is a fantastic recognition of all the hard work we are doing here at the University of Northampton and Changemaker Hub in equipping our students with the skills, experience and knowledge they need to become highly employable graduates and to be the best they can be.”
