A leading professional body’s accreditation of the University of Northampton’s Engineering degree has given a massive boost to the employment credentials of future graduates.
Accreditation of the course by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) confirms it is relevant to current industry practice, and equips student engineers and technicians with the skills to develop outstanding technical solutions to many global challenges – and ultimately improve the world through engineering.
The University of Northampton will work in close partnership with the IMechE for the benefit of its students and apprentices in the months and years ahead to ensure the successful delivery of engineering education and training.
IMechE accredited degrees are assessed by professional and academic experts to ensure they offer comprehensive subject specific knowledge alongside high standards of teaching and engineering to equip students and apprentices with the very best start to gaining their professional registration.
Deputy Head of Subject for Engineering, Stephen Hillyard, said: “The engineering team is immensely proud to have secured this recognition of excellence from the IMechE – the industry seal of approval.
“The accreditation for this programme demonstrates our offer of a solid education to students and apprentices, including practical, analytical and interpretive skills.
“It is a seal of approval and assurance that the course meets the highest standards required by the IMechE and will provide our fantastic students and apprentices with the very best grounding for entering their future careers as Engineers.”
