Zahra qualified as a midwife and holds both a BSc (Hons) and MSc in Midwifery (Education), with a focus on teaching, assessment, and curriculum development. She is a registered member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Zahra has gained clinical experience as a Registered Midwife in Iran for 2 years, where she provided comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
Following her clinical practice, Zahra transitioned into academia and has over seven years of experience as a Lecturer in Midwifery in Iran. During this time, she was actively involved in teaching undergraduate students, supervising clinical placements, and contributing to curriculum development. She has also contributed to educational activities through involvement in academic committees, accreditation processes, and teaching initiatives. She has received recognition for her contribution to teaching and educational development, as well as support for maternal and newborn health.
Zahra joined the University of Northampton as a full-time Lecturer in Midwifery in January 2026.
