Soliman is a mechanical engineer with a strong background in automotive engineering, having worked in industry for several years before moving into higher education. His industrial experience has significantly influenced his teaching approach, particularly in emphasising practical application, problem-solving, and the relevance of engineering theory to real-world contexts.
Soliman is working as a technician demonstrator within mechanical engineering, where he supports the academic team by delivering and facilitating the practical components of engineering modules across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. His role involves guiding students through laboratory experiments and workshop-based activities, ensuring they understand the practical application of engineering principles.
He is also responsible for the machining workshop, where students develop skills in design, fabrication, sheet metal work, welding, and machining processes. In addition, he provides technical support for final-year projects where required, assisting students in translating conceptual designs into functional prototypes.
