Sally is a lecturer in physiotherapy within the Faculty of Health, Sport and Behavioural Sciences. She has a passion for musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy and enabling patients to achieve their goals, whether that is being able to walk to the shops or run a marathon. As part of the University teaching team, she is now excited to have the opportunity to share and develop this knowledge with others and encourage students to capture that same passion.
Sally qualified as a Physiotherapist in 1995 with a degree from the University of East Anglia. After rotating through various specialities, she spent 6 months working and developing physiotherapy work in Africa. On returning to the UK, she began working in Bedford within the MSK department. With a desire to increase her knowledge and expertise in this area, she completed a Masters in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy at the University College London in 2004 and gained membership of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP).
Sally joined the Physiotherapy teaching team in 2025 and will be involved with the teaching and development of various modules across the BSc programmes.
Outside of work Sally is a keen runner and swimmer and (less so) cyclist, and in 2025 had the privilege of representing GB at the World Age Group Aquathlon Championships in Pontevedra Spain.
