Dr Patrice Seuwou is Associate Professor in Learning and Teaching and Director of the Centre for the Advancement of Racial Equality at the University of Northampton. He holds two doctorates: a PhD in Computer Science and Informatics from London South Bank University, specialising in autonomous vehicle adoption, and a PhD in the Sociology of Education from the University of Northampton, focusing on the educational experiences of ethnically and culturally diverse students in higher education.
Patrice’s interdisciplinary research spans Digital Business, Technology Adoption, and Race Equity in Education. His current work explores the lived experiences of Global Ethnic Majority (GEM) students in UK universities, drawing on Critical Race Theory, Intersectionality, Bourdieu’s theoretical framework, and Yosso’s Community Cultural Wealth model.
He is the author of the widely used textbook Digital Business and has published in areas such as Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs), Actor–Network Theory, autonomous vehicle security, authentication and privacy, and management information systems.
Patrice has held several senior academic and administrative roles across both public and private higher education sectors, including Academic Registrar, Head of Department, MBA Programme Director, and Programme Leader. Prior to joining the University of Northampton, he lectured at London South Bank University and led undergraduate programmes in partnership with Plymouth University, University of East London, Coventry and University of Gloucestershire.
A Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), Patrice also serves as a reviewer for Widening Participation and Lifelong Learning and the International Journal of Electronic Security and Digital Forensics (IJESDF). He is an External Examiner for the Open University and Staffordshire University, and a Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) Reviewer.
Patrice is a Microsoft Certified Professional, a qualified Enterprise Solution Architect with the British Computer Society (BCS), and a member of several professional bodies including the Association of Computer Professionals (ACP), the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), and the Chartered Institute for IT (BCS). His international teaching experience includes Executive MBA delivery in Shanghai, China, and guest lectures at Kathmandu University in Nepal.
