CiBAP, College and Design Factory, Netherlands

CiBAP College and Design Factory, NetherlandsCiBAP Vocational College for the Creative Arts is a secondary vocational education (MBO) college in Zwolle, the Netherlands, offering creative courses for 1800 students. Their aim is to help young people develop at the very highest level in creative, entrepreneurial and technical fields.

Their vocational courses equip students with the skills they need to establish themselves in the creative industry, which has been one of the fastest growing sectors in the Netherlands for many years.

The core values of creativity, craftsmanship, entrepreneurship, communication and contextual awareness are at the heart of the teaching at CiBAP. Together, these values form the 21st century skills the creative industry needs.

Internationalisation is given for CiBAP students. After all, anyone wanting to work in the creative industry will by definition be working internationally, especially in the Netherlands. Dutch Design is a household name across the globe – and for good reason. Students can take part in excursions abroad and can elect to undertake an international internship. Studying abroad is also an option, and it goes without saying that we also welcome students from other countries.

The BA Visual Communication (Top-Up) is a recognised UK Level 6 qualification and aligns to EQF and NLQF level 6 and corresponds to a bachelor’s degree. These courses provide students who have completed education to Level 5 the opportunity to earn a full bachelor’s degree with honours at Level 6.

To be eligible, students must have completed their MBO and the bridging module delivered by Cibap. The MBO is mapped to UK Level 5, and together with the bridging module, is considered equivalent to a UK Level 5 qualification. Both components must be successfully completed before enrolment.

All enrolments are processed by the University of Northampton Admissions Department. Students enrolled in the Level 6, BA Visual Communication (top-up) are considered UON students for the duration of the course. Upon successful completion of all modules, they are awarded a bachelor’s degree in visual communication from the University of Northampton.

The programme specification of the award can be accessed via the programme catalogue here: UON programme specification catalogue
