UON International Scholarships

The University of Northampton International Scholarship Scheme is a merit-based scholarship that provides up to a £4,000 reduction in tuition fees for every year of your study (excluding placement years). All full-time Undergraduate and Postgraduate taught courses delivered on campus fall within the scheme and you will be considered for a scholarship on the basis of your academic achievement.

You do not have to apply for this scholarship separately from your initial application and you will be informed of the outcome in your offer letter.

Eligibility Criteria

• To be eligible for the University of Northampton International Scholarship, you must hold an offer to study a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme (BA, BSc, BEng, MEng, LLB, MA, MSc, LLM or MBA) at UON.
• You must have been assessed as an overseas fee payer. For more detailed information on whether you fall into this category, please refer to the UKCISA guides to tuition fees.

Exclusions

• UK and EU nationals who are eligible for a maintenance loan from Student Finance England will not qualify.
• Students studying for a course validated by the University at a partner institution will not qualify.

Application Process

• Scholarship awards are made in parallel with an application to study at the University.
• Applicants are not required to make a separate application for a scholarship.
• Scholarships are awarded based on the merit of each individual’s application and academic eligibility.

The Award

• Any University of Northampton International Scholarship award is applied as an annual reduction in tuition fees of £2,000, £3,000, or up to £4,000 per academic year, payable in each year of the programme of study, subject to the student successfully progressing to the next year.
• A scholarship awarded at £4,000 on a three-year undergraduate programme therefore has a total potential value of £12,000 across the duration of the course, provided progression requirements are met.
• Exception: For Nursing programmes, the maximum scholarship available is £2,000 per academic year.

Acceptance

• To accept a scholarship, a student must pay £7,000 of their first year tuition fee before being issued with a CAS and then the remainder (minus discounts and scholarships) in two instalments, depending on the start date of your course.

General Terms and Conditions

• A change of course to another qualifying programme within the University of Northampton will not affect the continuation of the scholarship. However, if this results in an extra year’s study the scholarship will only be paid for the total length of the first programme they enrolled onto.
• Students who do not satisfy the academic requirements to progress and are required to repeat a year (either full-time or part-time) or resit out of residence will not be eligible for a continuation of the award in the repeat/resit year.
• In the case of deferral, withdrawal or restarting a programme, any award that has been offered will be withdrawn and must be re-applied for.
• The University reserves the right to withdraw an award from anyone who is found to have misled the University about any aspect of their eligibility.
• The University reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship award if you have any outstanding debt to the University.
• In cases not covered by the above terms and conditions, or where a student claims exceptional circumstances, or disputes, the Chief Operating Officer or their nominee will decide on any variations to these terms and conditions, and their decision will be final.

We’re delighted to offer our new EU Scholarship scheme to all EU students applying for an undergraduate three or four year programme. Eligible EU students will automatically receive the scholarship, bringing your tuition fees in line with the standard home/UK fee level.

To be eligible for the University of Northampton EU Scholarship, you must hold an offer to study a full-time undergraduate taught programme (BA, BSc, BEng, MEng, LLB) at UON.

The offer must be for a full-time three or four year undergraduate on campus programme.

Student must be EU national.

Exclusions

Students studying for a course validated by the University at a partner institution will not qualify.

Students applying for a postgraduate or one-year top-up programme will not qualify.

The Award

Any University of Northampton EU Scholarship award is applied as an annual reduction in tuition fees, payable in each year of the programme of study, subject to the student successfully progressing to the next year.

Acceptance

To accept your offer of a place and the EU Scholarship, you will need to make an initial payment of £2,000, which will enable us to begin the CAS process and enable you to secure your university Accommodation.

A further payment of £5,000 towards your tuition fees will then be required before your online enrolment can be activated.

The remaining tuition fee balance of £3050 will then be payable in two instalments. The deadline for these payments will be determined by your course start date. For September start, these are in 15 January and 15 April. For January start – 15 May and 15 August.

The University of Northampton is offering the Innovation Scholarship to support talented students from Thailand and Indonesia who are looking to study at the University of Northampton in 2027.

A total of four scholarships are available.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Innovation Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be a Thai or Indonesian national and currently reside in Thailand or Indonesia.
• Hold an offer to study a full-time undergraduate or taught Master’s programme within the Faculty of Business, Creative Industries, Technology and Law at University of Northampton.*
• Be applying for either the January 2027 or September 2027 intake.
• Meet all standard University of Northampton admission and English language requirements.

The Award

Each successful applicant will receive a tuition fee reduction of £7,000 per year for an undergraduate programme, for up to three years, or £7,000 for a taught Master’s programme.
