ASSIST Fund
Financial support for students with disabilities
The ASSIST Fund offers two awards to students with a disability, or those who are in the process of obtaining a diagnosis for a Specific Learning Difference (SpLD).
- Diagnostic Assessment Award – An award of up to a £350 contribution towards the cost of a diagnostic assessment for a Specific Learning Difference (SpLD), such as dyslexia, etc, before applying for Disabled Students Allowance (DSA); and/or an award of up to £50 towards the cost of obtaining medical evidence from a health professional as part of a DSA application.
- Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) Top-Up Award – An award of up to £200 for students who have applied for Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) as a contribution towards the cost of a computer and/or software to assist with learning, if you are required to pay a contribution towards these costs by your funding body.
To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:
- You are a ‘Home’/ UK student enrolled on a full-time or part-time undergraduate or postgraduate course at the University of Northampton. International students are not eligible to apply for this award.

As a student at UON, you can apply for these funds and awards through the Student Hub [student log-in required], which you can access once you have completed enrolment.
