Hi! I’m Anya, a L5 BSc Esports student here at UON!
I came to Northampton after two gap years, mainly to work and travel, and finally decided to come and live the university experience. I immediately fell in love with my course through the opportunities I was able to access on top of the studying, my proudest achievement here currently having led a fundraising event called Gameblast, which has raised over £4,700 in two years of us running it.
With being an Esports student, I’m a big fan of video games and I spend a lot of my free time playing with my friends here, other members of the society and some players that compete professionally. However, my favourite games are the calmer type like Animal Crossing which is a bit more relaxing. Most of the time when I’m playing, I’m also streaming my gameplay on Twitch!
During my time here, I have taken up every opportunity that came, filling my time with being a course representative, founding and acting as president of the Esports society, volunteering within the Students’ Union as a member of the Union Committee and getting to go to colleges to talk about university life. If there’s one thing about me everyone knows, it’s that I never have a quiet day!
