How to Apply

Employer Sponsorship:

To apply for an apprenticeship course, you must be employed in a job role that will provide you with the relevant experience to support your academic studies. In addition, your employer must agree to support you throughout the course by providing work time for you to complete the studies and working with us to arrange the funding. They can find out more in our Information for Employers section.

Prepare your documents:

You will be asked to provide your job description, your CV, and a personal statement when you apply. You will be asked to provide evidence of your relevant qualifications which are usually copies of your certificates. If you no longer have your certificates for any reason, we advise contacting your training provider or exam board to obtain copies.

If you do not hold a Maths or English qualification at a level 2 or higher and plan to self-fund these before applying, please choose an Ofqual registered provider. You can contact us on apprenticeships@northampton.ac.uk for recommendations.

Recognised Prior Learning: when applying for an apprenticeship, we will take into account your prior learning, whether official qualifications or industry experience. Please ensure your CV and application includes all of your formal and informal learning.

Additional Needs and Support:

During your application you will be prompted to tell us about any additional needs you have – this information is important so that we can ensure you receive the support you need whilst studying with us. You may be referred to our ASSIST team.

Application and Initial Assessment:

Once your employer has confirmed they are happy to support you with undertaking the apprenticeship course, you will receive two links to apply to the course, through our University system SITS, and our apprenticeship management system, Aptem. The application processes will prompt you to provide the required information as you progress through the steps.
