What is an Apprenticeship
A University of Northampton Degree apprenticeship will enable you to study for a higher level qualification and gain you professional recognition, all whilst earning a full time salary gaining invaluable workplace experience.
They are open to any age group over 18.
- You will spend most of the week at work (a minimum of 30 hours) watching, learning and getting stuck in.
- You will be learning from colleagues across all levels of the business, typically working closely with someone more senior who will review your progress and coach you.
- You will also spend time attending the university, training at work and online.
Some apprenticeships use a combination of options; your employer will decide which method works best.
In order to remain competitive and relevant in an evolving educational environment, we are providing new interactive learning practices and a transformational student experience.
Our modules and programmes have been re-designed in order to deliver a student-centred experience through active blended learning (ABL). This is our standard approach to learning and teaching.
Leading the way in adding value
We may be one of the youngest universities in the UK but we are already leading the way in adding value to society, which we call ‘social impact’. Social Impact is embedded in our institution-wide strategy, ‘Transforming Lives + Inspiring Change’.
We work hard to ensure that through socially innovative activities and initiatives we have a positive effect on the communities that we serve locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
Student centred learning
These approaches align perfectly with Apprenticeship methodology, enabling teaching through student-centred activities that support the development of subject knowledge and understanding, independent learning, and digital fluency.
Our face-to-face teaching is facilitated in a practical and collaborative manner, linked to learning activity outside the classroom. Opportunities are provided for students to develop autonomy, Changemaker attributes and employability skills.
