The University has the following wholly-owned subsidiary companies.

    Company Activities

    The Company has the following units:

    • 1st Degree Services – provides the in-house estates management service to the University. It focusses on maintaining the quality of the student experience within the University estate whilst successfully managing operating costs
    • Unitemps is as a temp, temp to perm, and graduate recruitment agency offering ‘student friendly’ part time and permanent roles for the University, as well as the wider jobs market
    • NLive – the University’s radio station, broadcasting to Northampton borough and surrounding villages
    • Uno Buses (Northampton) Ltd – UNEL owns 50.01% of the shares of Uno Buses (Northampton) Ltd (Company Number: 06375511)

    Company Activities

    The Company holds the operating lease for the Icon Innovation Centre building, managing the tenancies and maintaining the building. The Company also acted as the vehicle holding the design and build contract for the new student residences on the Waterside campus to enhance the efficiency of managing a single developer. This meant that the Company (rather than the University itself) contracted with the developers to build the new residences.
